Polychaete Worm
A polychaete worm in the family Paraonidae — tentatively Aricidea (Strelzovia) ramosa — collected offshore Koniuji Island at a depth of 804 meters (0.5 miles) during the 2025 Aleutian Arc expedition. Small animals like these live in deep-seafloor mud and play an important role in transferring energy between marine snow and larger animals feeding on the seafloor.
