On Thursday, September 8, representatives from NOAA Ocean Exploration will be onsite with our Education Alliance Partners at the EcoExploratorio , a science museum based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. A two-hour event will celebrate recent ocean exploration efforts in the area and explore the career paths and at-sea experiences of two ocean explorers from the island, Michael Gutiérrez Santiag, a recent NOAA Teacher at Sea alumnus and former EcoExploratorio educator, and Yashira Cruz Rodriguez, a graduate student at the University of Central Florida currently serving as communications lead aboard Ocean Exploration Trust’s research vessel Nautilus. At 3 p.m. AST/ET, a live conversation and question and answer session will take place, followed by hands-on activities demonstrating fun and exciting ocean exploration lessons and principles. The event will take place in person at the EcoExploratio. Livestream information TBD.
