This ocean sunfish (Mola mola) was seen while exploring Norfolk Canyon off the coast of Virginia during the Deepwater Canyons 2013 — Pathways to the Abyss expedition. Mola mola are among the largest bony fish in the world. At their full adult size, they can reach three meters (almost 10 feet) in length and weigh up to 2,200 kilograms (about 4,800 pounds).
