October 19, 2021: Spider Crab

With its long, spindly legs, this spider crab in the family Majidae certainly lives up to its common name! It was observed at 360 meters (1,181 feet) depth during exploration of Pourtalés Terrace, about 30 miles south of the Florida Keys as part of the 2019 Southeastern U.S. Deep-sea Exploration.
