December 3, 2020: Food Fight

During the Deep Connections 2019: Exploring Atlantic Canyons and Seamounts of the United States and Canada expedition, we saw two cutthroat eels (Synaphobranchus sp.) battling a hungry red crab for a squid meal. In the deep ocean, food is scarce, so competition for a good meal is often fierce!
