September 10, 2020: NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer

NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer at the pier in Pearl Harbor, Oahu, after completing Leg 3 of the 2015 Hohonu Moana: Exploring Deep Waters off Hawaiʻi expedition. This expedition was the first in the ‘Campaign to Address Pacific monument Science, Technology, and Ocean NEeds (CAPSTONE)’. Running from 2015-2017, this major foundational science effort focused on deepwater areas of U.S. marine protected areas in the central and western Pacific.
