Crossota Jelly
This Crossota jelly was observed flitting through the water column during Dive 05 of the 2026 American Samoa ROV + Mapping Exploration expedition. Many animals in the deep ocean, including this jelly, have red internal coloration which acts like a camouflage mechanism, allowing organisms to approach prey unnoticed.
