This dense collection of anemones (mostly Liponema sp.) was seen at a depth of 1,344 meters (4,409 feet) during a dive on Denson Seamount in the Kodiak-Bowie seamount chain during the Seascape Alaska 5: Gulf of Alaska Remotely Operated Vehicle Exploration and Mapping expedition in 2023. The pom-pom-like anemones were abundant along the seamount’s basaltic rocky outcrops and rock faces.
