Piloting the ROVs
Pilot training in the control room on NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer. Throughout the 2026 ROV Shakedown expedition, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) pilots from the NOAA Ocean Exploration Cooperative Institute trained in both the pilot (ROV Deep Discoverer) and co-pilot (ROV Seirios) positions.
