Dive 04: A large polymetallic nodule is collected from the seafloor during the fourth dive of the 2026 Cook Islands ROV Exploration cruise. The dive took place on the western ridge of a seamount, dubbed “Seamount B1,” located near the Cook Islands’ western boundary with American Samoa, starting at a depth of approximately 2,900 meters (1.8 miles).
