This unusual fish, a faceless cusk eel (Typhlonus nasus), was seen at a depth of 5.1 kilometers (3.2 miles) while exploring the seafloor of the Cook Islands during the Deep-Sea Habitats of the Cook Islands expedition on Exploration Vessel Nautilus.
