Mesophotic Corals
These mesophotic corals were seen while exploring two shallow seamounts on the Western Mariana Ridge during the Mattingan: Mariana Arc Volcanic Exploration expedition on Exploration Vessel Nautilus. Observation of healthy reefs at depths between 50 and 100 meters (164 and 328 feet) expands the known range of coral reef habitats in the region.
