December 24, 2021: Bamboo Coral

This bamboo coral (family Isididae) was observed at a depth of 2,491 meters (1.55 miles) during a 2021 North Atlantic Stepping Stones dive to explore a previously unexplored seamount the expedition team dubbed Hopscotch Seamount, as its exploration brought us just south of the Corner Rise Seamounts initially targeted for exploration on this expedition.
