This large primnoid coral colony along with several brittle stars was seen during a 2016 Hohonu Moana: Exploring Deep Waters off Hawaiʻi dive on a ridge extending to the southeast of Castellano Seamount. The seamount had not been previously surveyed and therefore its geology and biological communities were completely unknown before our dive.
