Because of their often vibrant colors, anemones in the ocean share a common name with the terrestrial flowering anemone plant. So, in honor of the first day of meteorological spring, here's a video of a beautiful deep-sea "flower" (sea anemone) blowing in the spring "breeze" (or deepwater current). Seen while exploring an unnamed seamount west of Salmon Bank as part of the 2016 Hohonu Moana: Exploring the Deep Waters off Hawai’i expedition.
