Sampling Showcase
The intent of sampling operations during expeditions on NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer is to collect the minimum number of samples needed to provide a general representation of the biological and geological settings, as well as other relevant information, for a given dive or an area of interest. During Dive 14 of the Papahānaumokuākea ROV and Mapping expedition, the team collected a total of eight samples, including four biological samples, three geological samples, and one water sample.
