All tube anemones have an elongated body and two crowns of non-branched tentacles. Longer tentacles are arranged at the edge of the tube anemone’s oral disc while shorter tentacles surround the mouth. This image, taken at a depth of 355 meters (1,165 feet) during a dive to explore a previously unexplored region of the Scotian Shelf as part of the Deep Connections 2019: Exploring Atlantic Canyons and Seamounts of the United States and Canada expedition, provides a beautiful close view of the inner set of tentacles.
