December 8, 2021: Pom Pom Anemone

On October 1, 2014, we conducted the first-ever remotely operated vehicle exploration of Physalia Seamount as part of the Our Deepwater Backyard: Exploring Atlantic Canyons and Seamounts 2014 expedition. Prior to this dive, Physalia was the last unexplored seamount on the East Coast inside the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone. A highlight of the dive was this pom pom anemone, the first one we had seen on the expedition. Watch video highlights from the dive.
