This sea anemone, believed to be in the superfamily Actinostoloidea, was observed during a dive on “Wetmore Seamount” as part of the 2017 Laulima O Ka Moana: Exploring Deep Monument Waters Around Johnston Atoll expedition. The dive started at a depth of 2,150 meters (7,055 feet) depth on manganese-encrusted pillow lava flows, large blocks, and boulders with some patches of sediment and manganese-encrusted nodules. Fauna overall was sparse during the dive, with most species found in low abundance.
