August 12, 2021: Glass Sponge

This interestingly shaped glass sponge was spotted during a Southeastern U.S. Deep-sea Exploration dive to explore a site east of the Stetson-Miami Terrace Deepwater Coral Habitat Area of Particular Concern and to the west of the Million Mounds area, off the Atlantic coast of Florida.

This interestingly shaped glass sponge was spotted during a Southeastern U.S. Deep-sea Exploration dive to explore a site east of the Stetson-Miami Terrace Deepwater Coral Habitat Area of Particular Concern and to the west of the Million Mounds area, off the Atlantic coast of Florida.
