This sea urchin is commonly encountered within the North Atlantic. This one was seen while exploring Oceanographer Canyon, the largest submarine canyon within the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument and one of the largest off the Northeast U.S. coast, during the Deep Connections 2019: Exploring Atlantic Canyons and Seamounts of the United States and Canada expedition.
