November 13, 2020: Shrimp

During the Mid-Cayman Rise Expedition 2011, an abundance of Rimicaris sp. shrimp were seen clustered around an area of diffuse flow at the Von Damm vent site. These shrimp, which were about 10 centimeters (4 inches) long, are known to eat chemosynthetic bacteria that grow on their own bodies.
