October 31, 2020: "Mr. Pumpkin"

During the Hidden Ocean 2016: Chukchi Borderlands expedition, the science party collected multiple ctenophores that may represent previously undescribed species, including this orange ctenophore affectionately dubbed by the expedition team as “Mr. Pumpkin.” This image of Mr. Pumpkin in the water column was taken by remotely operating vehicle Global Explorer. It is important to image any undescribed species in its own habitat.
