October 1, 2020: Crown Jelly

This crown jelly, Periphyllopsis braueri, is a particularly large jelly of a distinctive red color. In Japanese, this medusa is known as the red steamed bun jelly, for obvious reasons. This one was seen during the Gulf of Alaska Seamounts 2019 expedition.
