July 7, 2020: Iridogorgia Coral

A close look at the spiral shape of an Iridogorgia coral, imaged off of Wake Island during the Deepwater Wonders of Wake expedition. Wake Island (atoll) is the only geologic structure within the Wake Atoll Unit of the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument that reaches sea level.
