Explorer's Choice Photo Contest Archive

June is World Oceans Month! To celebrate in 2020, the NOAA Office of Ocean Exploration and Research asked members of the public to help us pick the best images from past expeditions on NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer. Each week for the six weeks leading up to June, we focused on a different deep-ocean theme. The Explorer's Choice Photo Contest Archive includes all the contenders. To view the winners, just click on the "Winners" button below.

On June 2, to kick off our celebration of World Oceans Month, we announced the winners of our Explorer’s Choice Photo Contest by releasing them as a series of digital e-cards for you to use to help spread the love for our ocean during World Oceans Month.

Note that all of the images are in the public domain, so free to use without restrictions; images should be credited to the NOAA Office of Ocean Exploration and Research.
