side scan sonar image of the Grecian

The Grecian ran aground on a reef and was severely damaged on June 7, 1906. Repairs were made, but while under tow to Detroit, a storm sank the vessel in Thunder Bay on June 15, 1906. Although her stern is collapsing, her engine, boilers and prop are still intact. Image courtesy of Thunder Bay 2001, NOAA-OER.
