This saturation bell, constructed by Global Industries, is a chamber in which divers acclimate their bodies to the same pressure under the ocean's surface. This marked the first time that Navy divers used a civilian saturation system during official operations. (U.S. Navy Photo). Image courtesy of Monitor 2001, Monitor collection, NOAA/OER.
