A gas-tight sampler is attached to a gas extraction line (titanium cylinder being heated with a heat gun). Giora Proskurowski, a recent graduate student in Oceanography at the University of Washington, is studying the gases at Lost City in collaboration with Dr. Marvin Lilley.
