Three-dimensional view of the southern Mariana back-arc spreading center

A three-dimensional view of the southern Mariana back-arc spreading center, where hydrothermal activity was detected during a CTD tow-yo. The large hydrothermal plume was detected at 12.95 degrees North. The EM300 bathymetry data were collected onboard this expedition. The data were gridded at 30 meters and are three times vertically exaggerated.
