This rattail (Coryphaenoides carapinus) was observed at a depth of 1,915 meters (6,283 feet) during exploration of Yakatut Seamount on Dive 10 of the 2021 North Atlantic Stepping Stones expedition. These fish are known to eat brittle stars, of which we saw quite a few dotting the coral rubble on the seafloor.
