This sea pen was imaged during Dive 11 of the Windows to the Deep 2018 expedition around 1,519 meters (about 4,984 feet). The white dots seen on the organism are highly modified polyps without tentacles called syphonozoid. These polyps can hold eggs or funnel water through the organism.
