Deep-sea alien life...right here on Earth. This isopod, unknown to our science team, was seen while exploring a site dubbed (appropriately!) Twin Peaks in the Mariana region at 4,810 meters (3 miles) depth as part of the 2016 Deepwater Exploration of the Marianas expedition. So many deep (sci-fi) mysteries left to unlock in our ocean.
