Hello! This alfonsino (Beryx sp.) came in for a close look at remotely operated vehicle Deep Discoverer during Dive 01 of the second Voyage to the Ridge 2022 expedition. Alfonsinos have brilliant scarlet red bodies, with silver-tinged sides as well as rather large eyes. They are commercially important fish in the eastern Atlantic. Learn more
