Imperial Japanese Navy destroyer Teruzuki (照月) was sunk in December 1942 during World War II’s battles off Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. It was found and explored for the first time at a depth of more than 800 meters (2,625 feet) during the Maritime Archaeology of Guadalcanal: Iron Bottom Sound expedition on Exploration Vessel Nautilus.
