Snipe Eel
This snipe eel in the genus Avocettina was seen during water column exploration at the end of a Gulf of Mexico 2017 expedition dive. Scientists believe that these fish use the two parts of their “beaks” to snag the antennae of shrimp for a tasty meal. We see interesting things every time we explore the water column, which is the largest, yet least explored, habitat on Earth.
