Divers descending on an amphibious vehicle (a Landing Vehicle Tracked, or LVT) in deep water to document it for the first time. A small dump of several LVTs is outside the reef in 21-43 meters (70-140 feet) of water. They were likely dumped there by the U.S. military after the battle. Unfortunately, this was a common practice post battle, and there are both charted and uncharted dump sites in the vicinity of Saipan.
