NOAA and the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) have signed a formal memorandum of understanding (MOU) to share data and scientific information, and collaborate on ocean exploration work that contributes to the missions of both federal agencies.

 

NOAA, Ocean Discovery League to advance low cost, equitable deep ocean exploration

NOAA and the nonprofit Ocean Discovery Leagueoffsite link (ODL) recently signed a formal agreement to work together to accelerate deep-ocean exploration through the development of low-cost tools and technologies, such as deep-sea cameras, that give greater, more equitable access to broader public and scientific communities to explore the deep ocean.

United States, Australia Ocean Science Agencies Team Up to Explore and Map Pacific Ocean

NOAA, Partners Discover Wreck of 207-year-old Whaling Ship in Gulf of Mexico

NOAA and partners today announced the discovery of the wreck of a 207-year-old whaling ship, called Industry, found on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. The remains of the 64-foot long, two-masted wooden brig opens a window into a little known chapter of American history when descendents of African slaves and Native Americans served as essential crew in one of the nation’s oldest industries.
