We spotted this interesting looking fish in Phoenix Canyon at 1,109 meters depth on Dive 01. Dr. Peter Auster (University of Connecticut and Sea Research Foundation - Mystic Aquarium), one of our participating shore-based scientists, called the ROV control room via the dedicated conference line to let us know it was a fathead (Cottunculus sp.).
