This page describes the different archived data collections, including:
A user can either choose to ‘Download All Files’ or select individual files from the list. This image shows individual zipped raw files, but by scrolling down the page, any multibeam post-processed files and products will be available.
Singlebeam and sub-bottom profile data is maintained in a separate area at NGDC. Either by following a link in the OER Digital Atlas or by navigating the NGDC website, the user will land on a page similar to the one shown below.
The user can select folder names to drill down into the data.
By following the link from the Digital Atlas or from navigating to NODC’s cruise accession holdings through their website, individual cruise pages look like the image below.
If the submitted cruise data is archived and publicly accessible, there will be a link indicating “Download originator data for accession.” NODC does not allow for bulk downloads of more than 2 GB. If the entire cruise data set is more than 2 GB, individual files can be downloaded instead. This is the reason that the Digital Atlas has Selected Data Sets available for download.
Once you have followed the link to the library, click on the detailed description tab and a list of all the holdings from that cruise will be populated. Each file must be downloaded individually as the NOAA Central Library does not allow for bulk downloads.
The OER data management team is committed to providing the reliable, timely access to data produced on board the Okeanos Explorer. They are continuously working with the NOAA archives to expand the types of data available and the ease of access. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
