Benthic landers, designed at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, will be used during Deep-water Mid-Atlantic Canyons project. They provide a way to deploy multiple instruments and experiments to the deep-sea floor and collect precise time-series data on environmental variability that is normally unattainable.
