Macauley submarine volcano approached from the south-southwest. The fly-through proceeds into the massive caldera (10 kilometers across at its widest point), then over an inflated ridge west-northwest of the caldera. The flight moves on to the northwest and circles Giggenbach volcano. Depths range from 75 to 1950 meters (246 - 6400 feet). Bathymetry data courtesy of New Zealand National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) and is vertically exaggerated 2 times. Fly-through movie courtesy of the NOAA Vents Program.
