This is a Quicktime VR movie showing the three-dimensional structure of a "mid-ocean ridge", where two of the Earth's tectonic plates are spreading apart. After the file has loaded, you can rotate the cube in any direction by holding down the mouse button and dragging the cursor inside the movie window. Animation by Clay Hamilton and Bill Chadwick.
