Hudson Canyon Shelf/Upper Slope Area sampling transects and station positions showing relationship to depth contours, tilefish fishing grounds, and heavily trawled areas (1989-94). Depicted is tilefish habitat, which has been altered by fishing activities, and previously undescribed rocky outcrops inhabited by a diverse fauna of invertebrates and fishes. With the accompanying side-scan data from the Hudson Canyon Expedition, analysis of these data will provide an immediate addition toward the habitat mapping effort, and will aid in directing the additional investigations.
