Ocean Exploration Online Learning Community
NOAA’s new Ocean Exploration Online Learning Community provides an engaging and dynamic online gathering place for those interested in delving deeper into ocean exploration and how it can be used to enhance ocean science literacy. Building on unique opportunities to learn about and explore the oceans offered by the NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer, the first Federal ship dedicated to ocean exploration, the Ocean Exploration Online Learning Community offers a point of embarkation to a journey of continually evolving online learning experiences - all of which are creative opportunities for educators, students, and the general public to join with a community of others as they seek to understand more about our little-known ocean world. From opportunities to join online ocean exploration expeditions, gain access to innovative educational offerings, participate in online professional development, hear from explorers first-hand about ocean acidification and other key topics, take a virtual tour of the HMS Challenger
, or email a postcard to a friend about your favorite Creatures and Features
, the Ocean Exploration Online Learning Community offers something for everyone. Perhaps most importantly, it provides a self-directed learning experiences within a community that will continually evolve and be kept "evergreen" as ocean discoveries are made and communicated here to foster the spirit of exploration in learners of all ages. By following the links found on this page or by logging into the community, you will leave the U.S. Government's NOAA Ocean Explorer Web site.
