Since its creation in 2001, the NOAA Office of Ocean Exploration and Research has remained the only federal organization dedicated to exploring our unknown ocean. From providing the foundation for reliable science needed to make decisions to keep us safe and profitable to reaching growing numbers of armchair and budding scientists, each year we have made significant strides in gaining knowledge about our unknown ocean.
